Vacuum Receiver Handles Pellet and Regrind Materials; Scaling System KeepsProcessing Areas Clean

jan01_02.jpgPremier Pneumatics has introduced two new materials-handling products: the 4-in. Series II 2400MC vacuum receiver and the Filter Receiver Scaling System. The company asks that you contact them directly for pricing information. Use the Key Contact Directory on p 36.

Vacuum receiver The Series II 2400MC vacuum receiver is designed to handle pellet and regrind materials for railcar unloading or silo-to-daybin transfer applications. It can be used with the company's Series II 2400 central controller (May '00PA, p 67).

The standard construction is carbon steel, primed and painted with an epoxy-coated interior and an enamel-coated exterior. It is also available with stainless steel material contact areas.

It has a 20-in. dia housing with a 4-in. inlet, a single cartridge with 50 sq ft of washable polyester filter medium and a 10-in. gravity discharge gate. The hopper can hold 5 cu ft and can convey at rates from 5000 to 15,000 lb/hr. A modified modular cartridge bin vent head with a 4-in. air control valve can provide automatic pulse cleaning if needed.Circle 102

jan01_03.jpgFilter receiver scaling system is designed to keep processing areas clean and to eliminate manual handling. Material is conveyed to a filter receiver mounted on load cells. The receiver's self-cleaning filter media separates the material from the conveying air, eliminating product carryover and providing a cleaner process area.

The unit can be designed in two modes: gain-in-weight and loss-in-weight. The gain-in-weight mode features an Aerolock rotary valve that meters material into the conveying line until the preact value prior to the setpoint is reached.

A two-speed or variable-speed drive maximizes accuracy and the company's diverter valve directs material from multiple sources. The sack dump station allows the operator to add minor ingredients. When the recipe is complete, the filter receiver's gate opens and the material is discharged.

The loss-in-weight mode fills the receiver with material, then discharges until the correct amount has been delivered.Circle 103
