Web-exclusive: Materialise sets up in China

Belgium-based Materialise has opened an office in Shanghai for sales and support of its Magics and Mimics software for rapid prototyping (RP), rapid tooling (RT), and rapid manufacturing (RM). Five months previous the company opened an office in South Korea. The Shanghai office initially will consist of five people. Materialise has been working with Chinese partner companies for several years and collaborating with Chinese makers of RP equipment. The company says demand for all its technical and medical software is rising in China and it sees "tremendous growth prospects for the Chinese market."
