Clarkson College in Omaha, NE, and additive manufacturing specialist 3D Systems have partnered to create the 3D Printing and Technology Center of Excellence on the college campus.
The partnership will enable the 135-year-old college to manufacture FDA-cleared, 3D-printed, patient-specific devices onsite and make them accessible to clinicians and healthcare facilities across the region. Device offerings include diagnostic anatomic models, surgical guides for orthopedic oncology procedures, and radiotherapy accessories, said the news release.
The center currently is equipped with three printers — 3D Systems' ProJet CJP 660Pro, Stratasys' J850 Digital Anatomy Polyjet, and Formlab 3 SLA. Several 3D print media are available.
