A leading edge solvent dispenser designed for the assembly of medical plastic tubing will be featured by TechnoMed (Derwood, MD) at Medical Design & Manufacturing (MD&M) West, co-located with PLASTEC West, in Anaheim on Feb. 11 to 13, 2020. A subsidiary of Italy’s Tecnoideal, TechnoMed will exhibit in booth 2487 at what is billed as the largest medical device design and manufacturing show in the world.

Described as the company’s most advanced solvent dispenser for the bonding of medical tubing, the DS-Vision system provides manufacturers with a high degree of quality control during tubing assembly processes. Features include visual confirmation that the appropriate amount of solvent has been deposited on each assembly and data capture technology that can help to optimize bonding results. The delivery system has been engineered to consistently dispense the precise amount of solvent required by the application. Real-time on-screen production indicators benefit operator efficiency: The touch screen panel displays solvent levels, work in progress, a pass/fail counter and tube insertion counter.

DS-Vision is an easy-to-operate dispenser for cyclo-hexanone or alternative solvents, according to TechnoMed. The machine is an asset to quality control efforts, which are critical for the assembly of tubing devices, especially those used in minimally invasive medical procedures, said the company.
