Materials supplier Americhem has launched a new business division specifically for medical device and healthcare OEMs. Americhem Healthcare builds on the company’s 30-year history of collaboration with customers in the healthcare space, said the company in the April 12 news release. The business decision was made in response to tremendous growth within that segment in recent years, the company added.

Americhem Healthcare will provide medtech OEMs ranging from biocompatibility testing and formulations to design for manufacturing, said the announcement. Regulatory assistance is also part of the portfolio. “Americhem Healthcare will support customers every step of the process by providing global expertise in material selection, medical device product development support, and cross collaboration between teams,” said the company.

The company’s medical-focused application developers and sales teams across the Americas, Europe, and Asia are ready to collaborate on rapid development projects and small lot capacities as well as support global regulatory demands and provide niche healthcare expertise, said Americhem Healthcare Global Commercial Director, Bill Feldman. The company “has proven its commitment to the healthcare industry not only through our 30 years of experience, but also by dedicating a clean compounding facility and a plant expansion to our Morrisville, PA, manufacturing facility. We also have plants that are ISO 13485 certified,” said Feldman.

Headquartered in Cuyahoga Falls, OH, Americhem formulates custom color masterbatches, functional additives, and engineered compounds at 11 manufacturing plants around the world. All of its products are backed by a full array of technical support.
