From molded medical parts to smartphone holders, Maruka shows how it’s done at PLASTEC West

Maruka USA (Pine Brook, NJ) will demonstrate how its injection molding machines combined with add-on systems can seamlessly manufacture parts that meet specific customer needs at PLASTEC West in Anaheim, CA, next month. The company will run two machines—one electric and the other servo-hydraulic—customized with auxiliary equipment from Conair (Cranberry Township, PA) and robotics from Yushin America (Cranston, RI) on the show floor from Feb. 7 to 9.

To illustrate medical molding, Maruka’s 55-ton TOYO all-electric Si-55-6 is outfitted with an eight-cavity mold and Yushin HOP-Five 550X robot to produce nylon catheter guides. A Medline Microwheel desiccant dryer and Thermolator TW-P temperature control unit will supplement the process.

Check out the machines at booth 3833 at PLASTEC West in Anaheim, CA, on Feb. 7 to 9, 2017. For more information and to register to attend, go to the PLASTEC West website.

In a packaging demo, Maruka will use a 110-ton FCS HA-110 servo hydraulic and Yushin RCII-150S robot to mold plastic holders for smart phones and business cards. Enhancing the machine will be an EP1 Series chiller, Access loader and TrueFeed gravimetric feeder from the Conair Group.

Conair and Yushin representatives also will be at Maruka’s booth (3833) to meet with molders during the show.
