Medical device OEMs understand the value of winning a Medical Design Excellence Award (MDEA), but their vendors may not. So, here's a question for design engineers, molders and contract manufacturers: Has your company been involved in the design or manufacture of a medical product or related packaging this year that advances healthcare technology? If so, you may want to huddle with your customer and consider entering the MDEAs, the premier awards program for the medical technology industry and its supply chain. Entries are now being accepted for the 21st annual edition, but don’t procrastinate: The deadline to enter is Dec. 21.
|North America's largest annual medtech event returns to Anaheim, CA, on Feb. 5 to 7, 2019. Co-located with PLASTEC West, MD&M West will welcome close to 2000 exhibitors and 20,000 visitors to the Anaheim Convention Center. See you there!|
The MDEA competition recognizes outstanding achievements in medical product design and engineering in 11 categories. It won’t come as a surprise to the PlasticsToday community that polymers and plastics processing technologies often play a significant role in making those achievements possible. One of the great features of the awards program is that it honors the contributions of suppliers of materials and services along with the OEMs. In past years, Phillips-Medisize, Coloplast, Putnam Plastics and Gerresheimer have received recognition.
The awards ceremony is scheduled for June 11, 2019, at MD&M East at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York, NY. You know what they say: If you can make it there, you can make it anywhere. But you can’t win if you don’t enter. Do that before Dec. 21, and good luck!
