Privately owned custom injection molder G&F Precision Molding Inc. has announced the opening of a new ISO Class 8 cleanroom at its Fiskdale, MA, facility.
The 1,600-square-foot cleanroom will house three all-electric molding systems, including a vertical rotary machine specifically designed for complex insert and over-molding operations. The cleanroom includes space for two additional machines.
“Our expanded cleanroom resources and up-to-date manufacturing technology will provide G&F with significant opportunities to enhance engineering services and product offerings to our existing and new customers,” said company President John J. Argitis. “G&F’s investment is the direct result of the on-going collaboration and enhanced customer and supplier partnerships.”
G&F’s expanded resources come ahead of several new tool qualifications slated for the early part of this year. Speed-to-market considerations and a defect-free approach to quality are leading many medical device OEMs to seek G&F's molding expertise early in the product development cycle, said the company. The added cleanroom space responds to this need, as does the company’s ability to perform development molding and extensive medical qualifications.
Construction will be completed on the cleanroom later this month, said G&F.
