Florida-based mold maker and injection molder Seaway Plastics Engineering announced today that it completed the acquisition of Wright Engineered Plastics on Dec. 31, 2020. Wright is an injection molder serving the medical, aerospace, defense, and industrial markets from the San Francisco Bay area. The purchase expands Seaway’s presence and geographical reach in the medical device space.

Founded in 1968, FDA-registered and ISO 13485–certified Wright has extensive experience in precision molding, including two-shot, insert, and over-molding. It also provides contract manufacturing services to medical device OEMs and is equipped with an onsite cleanroom.

“We’re excited to acquire Wright, as this will enable us to broaden our capabilities and geographic reach to provide full-service injection molding services to an expanded customer base,” said Seaway President and CEO Tom Orr. “Seaway will leverage our network of sales representatives and domestic tooling capabilities to enhance growth at the Wright division. This acquisition will also support our customer’s needs for turnkey assemblies and higher volume molding production.”
