|Polycarbonate miniature retaining rings for medical micro tubing.|
Wittmann Battenfeld (Kottingbrunn, Austria) will showcase the medical micro molding capabilities of its MicroPower series of injection molders at Compamed in November. The annual event highlighting suppliers to medical device OEMs is co-located with Medica, the world’s largest trade show devoted to medical products, in Düsseldorf, Germany, on Nov. 18 to 21, 2019.
Polycarbonate miniature retaining rings for medical micro tubing will be produced on a MicroPower 15/10 on the show floor. The machine has a 150-kN clamping force and will be equipped with an eight-cavity mold built by Austria-based Wittner. The machine comes with a rotary unit, an integrated Wittmann W8VS2 robot and a camera for complete part inspection.
Following their removal from the mold and inspection, the 2-mg retainer rings are transferred to transport containers and separated according to individual cavities. The parts will be processed in an ISO Class 6 cleanroom environment created through a laminar flow system inside the machine.
The all-electric MicroPower system is designed as a self-contained cell enclosed on all sides but with sufficient space for the integration of optional equipment, such as a rotary table, robots, material dryers or temperature controllers. All drive modules, including mechanical components, are encapsulated in easy-to-clean housings, added Wittmann Battenfeld.
The company will exhibit at booth F 03-1 in hall 8B.
