Most recently, Elsass served as Milacron's manager of Applications and Technical Service, leading machine demonstrations, field process support, screw design, and technical sales support.

Elsass began at Milacron in 1976 after graduating from Miami University of Ohio with a Bachelors of Science degree in Engineering Technology. Elsass held a patent for co-injection machines and was involved in his local branch of the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE).Mark Elsass

Dave Lawrence, Milacron's President of Plastics Machinery - Injection/Extrusion and Mold Technologies, extended his own and his company's sympathy to Elsass's family; he is survived by his wife Sandy and children Joshua and Caitlin.

"[Mark] was a mentor and friend to many of us here and a vital part of our success over the years," Lawrence said in a release.

Elsass worked as a runoff and field service technician, and at different times was involved in Milacron's blowmolding, extrusion, injection molding, and reaction injection molding product lines. He spent four years as Milacron's Supervisor of Process Development, where he managed the design of injection feed screws.

The company noted that he played a key role in developing Milacron's servomotor and all-electric product lines. He was also described as a crucial part of Milacron's global expansion, being particularly instrumental in the start-up, training and ongoing technical oversight of the company's India operations.

"Mark made an impact on many people during his life," Lawrence said. "He will be greatly missed."
