A new module for the RMC family of motion controllers has been introduced by Delta Computer Systems. The RMC-Serial module combines multiple combination protocols with optical isolation and software-selectable transceivers (RS-232, RS-422, and RS-485). Supported serial protocols include Allen-Bradley DFI, Modicon Modbus/RTU, and other third-party products.
The motion controller can be preprogrammed using Delta?s Event Control Firmware (ECF) table, and RMCWin for mapping discrete inputs and outputs. Other components include a 12-bit analog interface module capable of accepting pressure, force, and joystick inputs, a digital I/O module with high-speed discrete inputs and outputs, and a synchronous serial interface. According to Delta, these features provide better noise immunity and higher resolution.
