Executive VP and CFO of international mining company Cleveland-Cliffs Inc., Brlas will serve on the audit, finance, and risk committee, as well as the public policy and Responsible Care committee. NOVA’s board now has 12 members.

PolyOne Corp. (Cleveland, OH) has elected Richard A. Lorraine and William H. Powell as directors to the company’s board, expanding the body to 11 members. Lorraine has more than 13 years of experience in specialty chemicals, joining Eastman Chemical in 2003 and retiring as its senior VP and CFO on Sept. 1. Powell has more than 32 years of experience in specialty chemicals, joining National Starch and Chemical in 1976 and serving as its chairman and CEO from 1999 until his retirement in 2006.

Chemical Market Associates Inc. (CMAI; Houston) has hired William J. Cherney as its global resources manager. Cherney will be tasked with managing all global resources activities, including human, facilities, and information technology resources. Cherney is certified as a senior professional in human resources by the Human Resources Certification Institute.
