Extrusion Dies Industries LLC (EDI; Chippewa Falls, WI) has promoted Sam G. Iuliano to the position of director of technical sales. In addition to providing technical support to customers and supporting EDI's field sales program, Iuliano will supervise a newly created sales group, Order Entry, that's been organized to streamline the order-intake process. Iuliano joined EDI in 1992 as a sales engineer, and through the years has been promoted to manager of sales administration and product manager. He was appointed technology manager in 2008.

Davis-Standard LLC (Pawcatuck, CT) has hired Michael Bontempo as its director of human resources. Bontempo has over 25 years of HR experience in manufacturing settings, most recently working as VP HR for Kenney Manufacturing Co. (Warwick, RI). Prior experience includes Stanley-Bostitch, The Moore Company, Sanmina Electronics, and Electric Boat.

Michael F. Quinn became the new CEO and president of Applied Robotics Inc. (Glenville, NY) effective Jan. 1, 2011, following the Dec. 31, 2010 retirement of Thomas Petronis from the same positions. Petronis served the manufacturer of robotic end-of-arm tooling and connectivity products since 1983, after 18 years with GE's Automation Development operation. Quinn comes to Applied Robotics with 45 years of management and technical experience with the U.S. Naval Nuclear Program at the Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory.

Proprietary barrier coatings manufacturer NanoPack Inc. (Naperville, IL) has named Tony Cella VP of sales for its North American market. Cella has more than 25 years of executive experience in flexible packaging sales in North America, most recently serving as VP flexible packaging sales with Berry Plastics/Ludlow Coated Products, formerly a division of Tyco Plastics & Adhesives. 

Specialty chemical distributor Maroon Inc. (Avon, OH) has hired Rachel Hardman as its customer service manager. Hardman will oversee all customer service initiatives supporting internal and external customers. Maroon distributes plastics additives and other chemicals from Evonik, Solvay, and Polystar, among others.
