Nordson Corp. has appointed Regis Machinery (Sales) Ltd. as its agent in the United Kingdom and Ireland for its extrusion dies product lines, it was announced by Andrei Stapinoiu, managing director of Nordson EDI Europe. Regis Machinery will provide sales and support services for Nordson EDI Europe's range of flat dies and related systems for film, sheet, extrusion coating, and fluid coating. Names in the News: Nordson Corp., Asaclean, Teknor Apex Co., and more

Nordson Corp. has appointed Regis Machinery (Sales) Ltd. as its agent in the United Kingdom and Ireland for its extrusion dies product lines, it was announced by Andrei Stapinoiu, managing director of Nordson EDI Europe. 

Regis Machinery will provide sales and support services for Nordson EDI Europe's range of flat dies and related systems for film, sheet, extrusion coating, and fluid coating. The company has long provided representation for Nordson's Kreyenborg line of pumps and screen changers and its BKG line of pelletizers.

Based in the UK, Regis Machinery is a family-owned business founded in 1966 by John Bargery and now headed by his son David Bargery, managing director.

"Regis has served the plastics polymerization, compounding, and processing industries for nearly half a century and brings extensive expertise in extrusion," said Stapinoiu. "David Bargery and his team pride themselves on personalized service to customers and their capability to offer complete downstream extrusion equipment packages."

headshot.jpegJoseph Serell of Sun Plastech Asaclean - Sun Plastech Inc., a manufacturer and distributor of Asaclean Purging Compounds, has announced that the company's Vice President Joseph Serell, has been named to the Board of Directors of Sun Plastech Inc. Serell will celebrate his 10th anniversary with Sun Plastech Inc. in 2014.

Teknor Apex Co. has appointed Andrea Barish as a sales representative for the Vinyl Division. Barish will be responsible for sales management and account development in Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, and western Tennessee.

"Andrea brings 16 years of experience in the purchase, sales, and distribution of plastics raw materials," said Norm Gourley, regional sales manager. "Our customers will benefit from her understanding of the plastics industry and from the strategic location of her office near St. Louis."

Barish was senior national accounts manager for Rock-Tenn Corp., focusing on resin sales. Previously, she worked for the resin distributor Jamplast, Inc., first as manager of customer service and distribution, then as account executive.

Andrea Barish holds an MSc degree in industrial safety from Central Missouri State University and a BSc degree in business administration from the University of Missouri.

Anthony Neubauer with the Heinz List Award 

is presented each year to an individual who has made outstanding contributions and achievements in the area of polymer devolatilization and/or reactive polymerization technologies.

Neubauer started his engineering career at Union Carbide Corporation (UCC) in 1975. For almost 40 years, Neubauer worked at UCC. His work led him to many significant awarded-winning accomplishments. Two significant accomplishments early in his career were the successful use of dry gas seals in centrifugal compressors, and the application of high horsepower variable frequency AC motors. In 1987, Neubauer was given a special award for increasing pelletizing system processing rates for the UCC's LP-3 UNIPOL PE facility. In 1992, Neubauer was presented with the prestigious Union Carbide Corp. Chairman's Award, for the development of innovative design improvements of polymer processing equipment that increased on-stream time.

Prior to starting his own company, "Materials Processing Consultants LLC" in 2013 to provide technical consulting services to the polymer and materials processing industries, Neubauer created a twin-screw extruder kneading block design that doubled processing rates while maintaining filterable residue at commercially acceptable levels.

Star Thermoplastics announced that Randall Fortin has joined this producer of TPEs (thermoplastic elastomers) as Chief Operating Officer (COO). According to company president and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Thomas Dieschbourg, "Fortin will provide the leadership, management and vision necessary to ensure that our customer focus, service support and innovation are continued as we grow our high-performance and team-oriented culture."

In this position, Fortin will be responsible for managing the profit and loss and operational aspects of the company as well as driving the continued aggressive and successful growth the firm has enjoyed over the past years.

Randall Fortin is a senior executive with global experience in specialty chemicals, polymers, plastics, and engineered materials used in industries such as health care, electronics, food and beverage, mining and mineral processing and transportation.  With more than 30 years in the industries served, Fortin brings to Star Thermoplastics, the knowledge and experience to design and implement profitable solutions that are economically solid, operationally efficient and environmentally sensitive for customers," notes Dieschbourg.

Fortin was corporate vice present of PolyOne Corp. Previously, he served as vice president of Cytec Industries and spent 20 years with Nalco Chemical as corporate vice president. Most recently, he was president of VCS2 LLC, a marketing consulting and sales training firm with a main focus on developing strategic plans, marketing analysis and action plans, and sales execution plans that establish powerful supplier-customer relationships through the demonstration of economic value-added.

He earned a bachelor's degree in chemistry and a master's degree in metallurgical engineering from the Colorado School of Mines.

BrentWeiss.jpegBrent Weiss of Elkhart Plastics Elkhart Plastics announced that Brent Weiss has joined the company as a sales representative. Weiss is based out of the company's Middlebury, IN office and is responsible for maintaining accounts for the Ohio City plant.

Weiss earned a bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management from Ferris State University. He brings more than 12 years of sales experience to Elkhart Plastics, having previously served as a Sales Representative at Novartis Pharmaceuticals.

"I look forward to a long career with Elkhart Plastics," Weiss said.

Borche North America (Ontario, California) announced the appointment of Cincinnati Process Technologies, Machinery Center Inc. and Plastics One as its new sales representative companies.

Cincinnati Process Technologies, a supplier of machinery, parts and services to the plastics molding industry will now be selling the Borche line of molding machines in the US Midwest. CPT also sells the WETEC line of robots, control and hydraulic system retrofits, screws and barrels, technical service and energy saving systems.

CPT representatives comment that "Superb pricing, energy efficient hybrid servo technology, large tonnage two platen machines, backed by CPT's commitment to servicing the customer all add up to an excellent value proposition for our customers"

The Machinery Center (Boca Raton, FL) America's largest stocking dealer and Plastics One (Wallingford, CT) will be working as a joint venture and will be responsible for the sales along the East Coast.

Ken Heyse states, "Plastics One has a long history of providing customers quality machinery at a value price point via the used machinery market, and feels that Borche is the best new machine option for those customers who struggle to find good late model used machines. King Plastic Corp., a manufacturer of polymer sheets, slabs and massive shapes, announced the appointment of Scott Plott as southeast account manager.

Plott brings more than 23 years of experience in plastics sales, marketing and product development.

"Scott is a solutions-oriented seller," said Jeff King, president of King Plastic. "His extensive background and technical knowledge in plastic distribution, fabrication and processing will make him a great resource for our customers in the region."

Based in Kennesaw, Ga, Plott's primary focus will be on growing the company's market share in the industrial, architectural and signage markets.

Following the successful acquisition of Kilian Tableting GmbH, the Romaco Group is continuing its expansion into Asia. During the past few months, the company has reorganized its international sales and service management activities. "Thanks to our excellent global team we can now convey a much more powerful message to our customers worldwide. By moving closer to them, we can focus even more sharply on their needs in future," said Paulo Alexandre, CEO of the Romaco Group.

The international Romaco management team has simultaneously been strengthened with several new faces:

Carsten Strenger, CFO and COO, Romaco Group

Carsten Strenger was appointed Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Chief Operations Officer (COO) of the Romaco Group in May 2013. Before joining Romaco he spent several years as Managing Director of the Alba Group and held various positions with increasing executive responsibility at Müller Weingarten, an engineering supplier in southern Germany, most recently as Vice President Operations.

Since April 2014, Mr. Strenger has shared the running of Romaco Pharmatechnik GmbH, the operating unit of the Karlsruhe based Romaco Group, with Paulo Alexandre.

Peter Haider, Vice President Customer Service, Romaco Group

Peter Haider's extensive experience has been applied to Romaco's Equipment and Customer Service functions since April 2014. His primary task is to develop the Group's Customer Service across the various corporate sites and place it on an international footing. Haider's vast know-how in this area has been gained over the last fifteen years in a series of management positions at Voith Paper, where he was Director Business Development for Products & Services prior to joining the Romaco Group.

Charles E. Ravalli, General Manager, Romaco North America

Charles Ravalli assumed responsibility for all Romaco Group activities in North America (Romaco Inc., New Jersey) in November 2012. He can look back on thirty-six years of experience in the packaging industry, during which he has contributed crucial momentum to the business development of several different companies with his extraordinary abilities. He spent the preceding twenty-two years as CEO of Oystar USA and before that was President and CEO of Hassia USA.

Shu Liu, General Manager, Romaco China

Shu Liu has been running the Romaco Sales Office in Shanghai (China) ever since it opened in August 2013. She will play a decisive role as Romaco continues its growth trajectory in China with its own regional branch. Romaco's previous Chinese agent, Shanghai Rikihinbou Industry Co, Ltd., will be incorporated into the local Romaco organisation. During Shu Liu's 17 years of experience in International Business-to-Business, she has had responsibility in varying positions, including Sales, Marketing and Business Development for varying companies including Stevenato and Schott. She has extensive experience in the pharmaceutical packaging industry in both Europe and Asia.

Dmitry Voloshin, General Manager, Romaco Russia

Dmitry Voloshin, a proven expert in the pharmaceutical world, has been responsible for the Romaco Group's Russian activities since February 2014. His principal duties include the ongoing strategic development of the Russian market, lead generation, branding and marketing. Voloshin will continue to build up Romaco's business in the Russian Federation together with ECI Packaging Limited, a commercial agent which has a long history as a Romaco partner. With more than seventeen years of managerial experience in the Russian pharmaceutical and engineering industries as CEO of Pharmaplan and Pharmagroup, he is optimally equipped to take on this challenge.

Gerd Hueffmann, Managing Director, Romaco Kilian

Gerd Hueffmann was appointed Managing Director of Kilian Tableting GmbH in the wake of the Romaco Group's formal takeover, with responsibility for sales of new machines and customer service. Prior to accepting this position at Kilian in September 2013 he accumulated extensive experience in international sales at Fette Compacting and Korsch AG, for example.

Jamal Mokaddam, Business Development Director Romaco Systems, Romaco Group

Jamal Mokaddam, an acknowledged pharmaceuticals expert, is another new face who joined Romaco in April 2014. Amongst other things, he acquired the experience necessary to strengthen and expand the Romaco sales network during his previous assignment at Optima Pharmamit, where he spent around five years as Sales Director India and South-East Asia. Prior to that he worked for seven years as Product Manager at Oystar Manesty (UK), where he gained deep insights into tableting processes.

Rolf Izsak, Project Engineering and R&D Coordination, Romaco Group

Rolf Izsak began his career in the packaging machinery industry at Siebler, in the days when it was still owner managed. He remained on the payroll of this leading manufacturer of heat-sealing machines, which became part of the Romaco Group in 1999, for sixteen years, including several as Production Manager with responsibility for heat-sealing technologies. Prior to rejoining Romaco in 2013 he held various managerial positions at IWK Verpackungstechnik GmbH and Mediseal GmbH, where he was in charge of blister packaging machine design.
