Medical device manufacturer Polyzen (Apex, NC) has named Richard Kindberg the company’s new president.  He assumes the position from Tilak Shah, who now will serve as CEO and Chief Technical Officer (CTO).

Kindberg’s medical device career spans more than 27 years. He has held executive positions with leading medical products companies including Ethicon Endo-Surgery, a division of Johnson & Johnson, and Bard Electrophysiology, a division of C.R. Bard.  Most recently he was the president and CEO of Luminetx Corp. (Memphis, TN), where he led the firm’s organization transition and sale.

In a press release Polyzen made clear this is the first of a number of planned new hires for the company. Among Polyzen’s services is its ability to provide companies that have a North American base with new alternatives for R&D outsourcing, as well as contract manufacturing, as an alternative to them going offshore for their needs.

Underscoring its continuing expansion in Asia, the Automotive Group of Teknor Apex Co. has named Kyung-Jin Min as market manager for Asia,based in Seoul, Korea. His background includes working for carmaker Kia, GE Plastics, and most recently, BP Korea.

Bio-based plastics manufacturer Cereplast Inc. has appointed 25-year plastics industry veteran Robert Findlen as its Sr. VP of global sales and marketing. He previously held executive positions with General Electric, LNP Engineering Plastics, and most recently was VP sales and marketing for biomaterials maker Metabolix Inc.
