) has added an automated flow coat line. The system allows for each side of a complex-geometry plastic part to be coated through the use of two six-axis robots for positioning. MXL has found immediate application for the new line in meeting European performance standards for antifog motorcycle visors; in meeting National Fire Protection Agency requirements for hard-coating a respirator lens on one side and applying antifog on the other; and in processing sport helmet lenses that require an abrasion resistance coating on the outside and fog resistance coating on the inside.
