The new Symphony 2000 PC-based hot runner control system integrates many of the key features of its predecessors, as well as new features, such as historical analysis trending and decision support system. (IMM previously covered the Symphony 2000?s introduction in September 1994, p. 46.) The historical analysis trending feature stores 24 hours of information such as actual and setpoint temperature, setpoint changes, alarm and abort temperature settings, and error updates. The decision support system displays problems when they occur and offers possible solutions.
A touch-screen display provides a view of up to 96 zones at a glance. Once parameters have been set with features like Digi-Mold ID, which stores specific mold criteria for future runs, startup is as easy as pushing a button. Prices were not provided.
