The family-run company celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2014. Company founder Michael Reedy introduced to the industry his non-toxic, FDA approved chemical foaming and nucleating agents. Reedy was able to help companies reduce emissions by up to 40%, enabling them to return to full capacity. They also saw unexpected benefits like less embrittlement, better flexibility, improved surface and lower energy costs.

Filling that need was the first step in what would eventually become a global entity. Michael Reedy's wife, Anne Marie Reedy, remains the company's CFO. Their children, Peter Schroeck, CEO and president, Bryan Burgess, VP of Global Business, Kristen Reedy, VP of Finance and Elena Miller continue to run the organization. 

Miller said that the company has recently hired five new employees and the company is looking to hire more positions such as a lab analyst as well as expanding the sales team.

And one big push for 2015 is education to the industry.

"We are trying to reeducate and refocus on what chemical foam can do," she said. "There are people who don't know what they can do with chemical foam and what it is capable of.  For example, it can lightweight a part, which is very important to the automotive industry. It's not only lightweighting, foam can decrease production time, reduce energy, reduce the amount of resin you use. It's beneficial in every aspect of production."

The company's main product line, Safoam chemical foaming and nucleating agents, can be used as a blowing agent, nucleating agent or flow aide in processes including: single- and multi-cavity injection; thick-wall structural foam and gas-assist molding; medium-density rigid extrusions like pipe, profiles and sheet; and flexible extrusion. Key markets for the product include packaging, pipe, automotive and more.

"We are focused on helping the customer, we don't just sell a product—we sell technology," she said. "We are willing to walk every step of the way to make sure they get the results they are looking for."
