New Rubber Processing Line Features Improved Feeding Technologies

NFM/Welding Engineers' new Series II HRX rubber extruder line, developed with its European subsidiary, NFM IDDON, features a number of new design features, including a feed cylinder with hinged power-feed roller and extended feed liner. These features are said to provide for efficient feeding of rubber strip or granular stock. For units with a screw diameter of 90 mm or above, a water-cooled and/or independently driven feed roller are options.

Each Series II HRX extruder, other than those used in silicone applications, are available with a high-intensity mixing scroll (HIM) and with pin barrel/screw concepts (primarily used on machines with a 90 mm or larger screw diameter).

Machines are available with screw diameters from 38 to 250 mm. Modular construction allows for various L/D ratios and scroll configurations to suit all elastomeric materials and applications. A range of mixing screw configurations is also available.
