For its new Linmax 1.5T model, Chinese OEM Changan had specified lasting high gloss appearance, enhanced UV resistance and suitability for hot stamping technology, as the key properties for its front grill. Ineos Styrolution’s Luran S 777K SPF30 has been identified as the only grade being able to meet all these requirements.

Luran S is Ineos Styrolution’s acrylonitrile styrene acrylate copolymer (ASA) brand of choice for unpainted exterior applications. It offers outstanding properties for long-term use and for a high quality surface appearance. In particular, it offers weathering stability for outdoor applications even when unpainted. This selected Luran S grade’s excellent adhesion properties also make it an ideal substrate for decorative foils, such as those produced by Kurz do Brasil.
“The hot stamping technology allows automotive OEMs like us to create high quality and aesthetic front grills while reducing manufacturing cost. Luran S is the material of choice since it offers an excellent surface quality that cannot be achieved by other materials,” comments XingXing Ming, Engineer, Changan Automobile (Group) Co., Ltd.
“As a supplier to one of the most iconic automotive brands in China, it is imperative for us to partner with world class and innovative material suppliers like Ineos Styrolution to provide the right solutions for our customers,” comments ZhangJian Yang, an engineer at Chongqing Dajiang Yuqiang, which is the Tier 1 automotive molder manufacturing the front grills for Changan’s Linmax 1.5T.
