To meet growing demand for ready-to-cook and take-out foods, Avient has introduced Nofog Plus, the next-generation of its anti-fog additive CESA. The product was unveiled on April 12 at Chinaplas 2021.

By reducing moisture accumulation, CESA Nofog Plus helps prolong the shelf life of packaged foods. It can clear fogging immediately in hot conditions, and within minutes in cold conditions. Lids and protective films produced with this food contact–safe additive also remain clear, so that consumers can observe the food quality.

The CESA additive can be used in both rigid and flexible food packaging, including mono- and multilayer structures. It is suitable for thermoformed sheets as well as transparent food packaging and agricultural and protective films.

“By helping to maintain the freshness of food in packaging and limiting the growth of bacteria and fungi, it’s possible to reduce food waste and improve food hygiene,” said Say-Eng Lee, Vice President and General Manager, Color & Additives Asia.

CESA is available as a solid masterbatch and can be extruded with packaging resins without the need for extra equipment. It complies with US FDA and EU regulations.
