G3 colorants can be used in all olefins and engineering resins, and they provide higher pigment-loaded custom colors. Additionally, notes the company, they have a lower environmental impact than previous generations because of a reduction in production energy, packaging materials and CO2 emissions.
Carolina Color's G3 product line has proven to be effective in diverse applications such as packaging, housewares, lawn and garden and transportation. The technology can be applied to most major polymers including acrylic, PET, PS, ABS, TPO and high-gloss materials.
The company states that converters will be impressed by the new G3 technology, whether performing injection, blowmolding or extrusion. "Some extruders have already reported an increase of 15% in input rates," said Kyle Holder, Packaging Category Director, at the recent Thermoforming Conference in Atlanta. "We can also get higher UV additive loadings, and G3 is effective in color spaces that require organic pigments."
