Attributes of G3 technology include versatility with just about any resin system and the ability to achieve 20% or more increased pigment loading levels in polyethylene and polypropylene without compromising pigment dispersion.

The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office issued a patent to Carolina Color Corp. (Salisbury, NC) on May 15, 2018, for its G3 color pellet technology for plastics processors. G3 has proven to be effective in diverse applications including packaging, housewares, and lawn and garden products.

“G3 is a great example of Carolina color’s ability to create truly disruptive technologies providing our customers with genuine competitive advantages,” stated COO Jeff Smink. “We anticipate continued growth of this G3 technology moving forward into 2019.”

Key attributes of G3 technology include versatility with just about any resin system and the ability to achieve 20% or more increased pigment loading levels in polyethylene and polypropylene without compromising pigment dispersion. Formulations with 40 to 45% loading of dyes can be produced in HIPS, PET, nylon, crystal styrene and acrylic. The technology allows formulations with 50% or more of pearlescent pigment, nearly doubling the former industry standard of 30%.

Carolina Color provides customer with full-service production capabilities, and complete laboratories for color matching, testing and analytics.
