  • The HDPE bottles market will grow to $78.74 billion by 2033.
  • HDPE’s recyclability in an era of increased sustainable-packaging legislation will drive market gains.
  • North America holds the largest share of the HDPE bottles market, with nearly 36% of global revenue in 2023.

A new report from Towards Packaging estimates the high-density polyethylene (HDPE) bottles market will grow from $52.61 billion in 2023 to $78.74 billion by 2033, with a CAGR of 4.26% starting in 2024.

Physical characteristics that differentiate HDPE from other packaging polymers include its tensile strength, high melting point, strength-to-density ratio, and impact resistance.

HDPE is also compatible with a range of chemicals. It can be used to safely contain organic and chemical compounds such as bases, acids, aldehydes, alcohols, esters, and aliphatic hydrocarbons. Hence, HDPE bottles can be used for products ranging from brake fluid to rubbing alcohol.
