Ketchup or mayo? Duopack lets consumers have both in one flexible package

Now you can have condiments your way with Duopack’s innovative, patented double-flexible packaging that offers consumers three ways to dress up their hot dogs, hamburgers and French fries. Duopack is based on the widely distributed flexible stand-up pouch Doypack with one special feature—a partition in the middle of the pouch divides the products into two isolated parts. In this way, the consumer can use the package to alternately or jointly extract the foods or condiments according to their taste, said Duopack.

For example, a Duopack may contain mustard and mayonnaise, allowing the consumer to have either condiment, or both.

Duopack is the next step in the development of the Doypack stand-up pouch that the company estimates will be the fastest growing flexible packaging segment until 2020, growing by an average rate of 8% annually. That is more than the entire flexible packaging segment, which will grow by 4 to 5% annually.

The Duopack offers brand owners the ability to combine two products in a single stand-up pouch at differing volumes—50/50, 30/70 or 40/60, for example. In addition to condiments, other applications include shampoo/conditioner combos, detergent and much more.

Flexible packaging requires less storage space, lowers transportation costs and offers a large format for images and product information.
