PIC Group expands North American footprint; sets up shop in Mexico

The PIC Group (Oshawa, ON, Canada) announced that it has entered into a contractual agreement under which it will operate in Tijuana, Mexico, through the Tecma Group of Companies' Mexico shelter company services. Headquartered in El Paso, TX, the Tecma Group provides services that enable firms of varying sizes from a wide range of industries to establish and maintain Mexican manufacturing operations at low cost and reduced risk. Under its Mexico Shelter Manufacturing Partnership (MSMP), companies can focus on their core, value-added functions, while Tecma tends to their human resources, payroll, accounting, logistics and other non-manufacturing, but essential, tasks.

The PIC Group currently services its primary automotive OEM customer at a number of North American locations. The agreement with Tecma will enable it to begin initial operations in servicing its primary automotive OEM client that is located in the state of Baja California. Among the services that the firm will provide for its customer from the facility include product sourcing and containment, rework, finished goods inspection, repacking and repackaging, and quality engineering.

According to PIC Group Executive Vice President Joe Pellerito, "The PIC Group is expanding its footprint in North America to better service its customers. The Tecma Group is the perfect company to help us to expand into Mexico due to the fact that our two organizations share customer and employee focused values."

The Tijuana facility will be the first that the PIC Group establishes in Mexico. Initially the company will begin activities with thirteen employees; that number is expected to double within a 90-day period.
