AMBA members: Is the 2011 annual convention on your calendar?

The American Mold Builders Assn. is off to the races at its upcoming 2011 Annual Convention, offering not only an array of exciting speakers, but also a NASCAR event. AMBA announced that its 2011 Annual Convention will be held March 2-6 at the Red Rock Resort & Spa in Las Vegas, NV. The theme, “Accelerate Your Profitability,” promises outstanding presentations in the areas of business performance, cutting-edge technology, and best practices, and as a bonus, a day at the races—NASCAR, that is.

The keynote address will be given by Steve Rose, the practice lead of Kotler Marketing Group, a leading consulting and training firm specializing in sales and marketing for suppliers to the automotive industry. Rose’s presentation, “Defending your price,” will provide attendees with the keys to competing against low-cost overseas suppliers who, though they can’t match U.S. moldmakers when it comes to building innovative molds and providing quality and service, can undercut them on price.

And back by popular demand is Steve Lefever, chairman, business resource services, who will present “Profit mastery.” This half-day seminar will be classic Lefever, both entertaining and educational in a way you’ve never heard before. If you think accounting and P&L statements are boring, you’ve never heard Lefever.

And then, for all the NASCAR buffs out there, stay with the AMBA group on March 6 for a field trip to the 2011 Vegas Shelby American NASCAR Race at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. It’s a great way to end a great convention in a great city.

The AMBA Annual Convention has a long history of being a rewarding event, one where moldmakers get together, network, have fun, and learn about new technology and best business practices that help them succeed. For more information or to register, visit the AMBA website. —Clare Goldsberry
