The company has made several investments in its flexible division of late, adding equipment and acquiring businesses. In 2008, Berry invested in a Gloucester Engineering multilayer cast-film extrusion line for its Pryor, OK facility, intended for stretch-film products. Prior to that on April 11, 2007, Berry announced the acquisition of flexible-film manufacturer Rollpak Corp. (Goshen, IN).

Berry has grown to 68 locations in the U.S., Mexico, Canada, Belgium, and China, with six U.S. sites for blown polyethylene-based packaging films. It has expanded from its roots as an injection molder of closures, adding thermoforming, blowmolding, and extrusion capabilities through acquisitions. Its co-extruded multilayer films unit supplies high-clarity shrink-bundling films, modified atmosphere packaging with oxygen transmission rates (OTR) from 150 to 400, and inserter bags.
 
Berry Plastics received support from the Georgia Dept. of Economic Development, Quick Start, the Development Authority of Columbus, the Greater Columbus Georgia Chamber of Commerce, and Georgia Power Company.
