BORIDE introduces EDM Polishing Stone and updated catalog

BORIDE Engineered Abrasives has introduced the Golden Star EDM Polishing Stone, formulated to contour quickly while achieving an outstanding, silky smooth finish. It delivers exceptional performance on EDM surfaces, milling and machining marks. The Golden Star is made with premium aluminum oxide grain and a proprietary treatment process. With medium hardness and a fast breakdown, the Golden Star offers quick material removal.

“We developed the Golden Star for customers who were looking for an EDM stone that cut fast, but also left a smooth silky finish,” said Betsi Burns, sales & product manager at RORIDE. “We ran extensive real-world trials with the help and expertise of professional mold polishers throughout the U.S. to optimize the product’s properties.”

When tested against competitive stones, the Golden Star was slightly harder, lasted longer, held its shape better and provided a better finish. The Golden Star works on all tool steels and is terrific when used during hand stoning as well as with profilers. Lengthy pre-lubrication is not required before use.
