German-based Brückner Maschinenbau will present in booth W-4763 the latest technologies that help film producers to manufacture a variety of special functional plastic films. Some of the offerings for packaging and label films include:

• Inline coating technology for BOPET and BOPP
• Production lines for high-barrier BOPP films in 5, 7 or 9 layers
• In-line and off-line technologies for trendy shrink sleeves with high-value appearance based on PET-G, OPS, PP or PVC

Brückner’s film stretching lines offer working widths up to 10.4m, production speeds above 500 m/min. Visitors at the Brückner booth will see latest solutions for improved operating stability and high line uptime.

In all lines, Brückner Maschinenbau continues to optimize the possibilities for energy savings. The measures presented are consistent with the German “Blue Competence” sustainability initiative, also promoted at NPE:

• Low energy twin screw and high speed single screw extrusion systems
• Direct fluff feeding system
• TDO heat recovery system
• Direct drives
• Regenerating energy for line drive systems

A highlight will be the “Intelligent Line Management” (ILM) including an energy monitor for measuring and analysing the energy consumption of the film production process based on the international standard ISO 50001.

Brückner will also show latest developments regarding reduced raw materials usage, decreased number of process steps and bio-based and bio-degradable raw materials.

• Down gauging of films while still achieving excellent film performance to reduce raw material consumption
• Manufacture of ultra-high barrier films (UHB) based on a multi-layer extrusion process to reduce subsequent process steps
• New lines and upgrading solutions for existing lines for BOPLA film production

New developments in the R&D department
Brückner's unique technology center enables comprehensive R&D for all kind of film stretching technologies under one roof. NPE visitors will get latest information about several extensions such as inline coating, enhanced in-line measuring technology, the new second laboratory line and Brückner’s “Innovation Test Center” for verifying and validating new equipment developments on several testing devices.

Brückner Servtec: Latest trends in upgrading
The service affiliate within the Brückner Group, will present how film producers can improve the productivity of their existing film stretching lines with upgrades and services.

Brückner Servtec will demonstrate how film manufacturers can enter new markets with an upgrade to 5-layer film production, the latest trend in upgrading worldwide. Detailed concepts for a qualified line modification with twin screw extrusion for existing BOPP lines will be presented. 5-layer films are produced for high-quality and high-margin applications, including white, voided and metallized films for food packaging, synthetic paper for business cards and high-barrier film for packaging with aroma protection.

Visitors will also get detailed information on upgrading the Process Control System. Brückner’s Integrated Process Control (IPC) is a user-friendly control and visualization system, continuously optimized for the biax film production. All system components are integrated into the plant‘s network for centralized management and support.

Another highlight will be Brückner’s CLIPFIT center for the Americas in Bogotá/Colombia. The professional clip and chain overhaul and refurbishment saves investment costs for new tools and equipment.

At the joint Brückner Group booth, besides Brückner Maschinenbau and Brückner Servtec visitors will also meet Kiefel, showing the latest developments for the packaging, automotive, medical & appliance industry, and PackSys Global, presenting advanced packaging equipment.
