npe16.jpgWhat's Hot! Temptrol Master HD is a heavy-duty, large capacity mold temperature control that expands the Temptrol Master series introduced in 1998 (May/Jun '98 PA, p 31 & Oct '99 PA, p 20). Heater range is from 9 to 18 kw with larger capacities available on special order. Pump sizes range from 3 to 7.5 hp. Units are stackable and allow for easy to access to components.

Also new is the MM Series of portable chillers (units will be operating on Reed and Arburg machines in booths 2726 and 3401, respectively). To maintain a small footprint (4 x 4 x 5.5 ft) on these 10-, 13- and 15-ton air-cooled units, the company developed a twin condensing unit with top discharge.

Units have brazed plate heat exchangers and 50-gal stainless steel insulated reservoir tanks. Pumps range from 1/2 to 10 hp, depending on circulation and pressure requirements. Air-cooled units in the 3-, 5- and 7.5-ton range have optional side or top air discharge. Water-cooled units have shell and tube coolers.

Standard features include solid-state plug-in digital temperature control with RTD temperature sensors, 110 v control transformers, branch fusing and anti-freeze safety flow switch, high and low refrigerant pressure safety alarms and freeze stat protection with liquid line solenoid and hot gas by-pass. All have scroll compressors. Low-temperature models are optional.

The company will also introduce a newly designed air-cooled central chiller that provides free heat to the molder's plant. This heat recovery system keeps the condensing unit outdoors (competitive heat recovery systems required that the condensing unit be inside), either as a remote condensing unit or as part of the system.

The heat recovery unit is mounted inside the facility, similar to a typical gas-fired heater, usually from the ceiling. It includes fans and thermostatic temperature control. Information and photos of a unit delivering more than 2 million Btus of heat/hr will be available in the booth.
