0500/NPE-156* The PowerMix unit for mixing and dispersion and for mixing viscous materials requiring a combination of slow- and high-speed agitation. The mixer has a slow-speed planetary stirrer, which continually moves material  into the high-speed disperser blade. This blade provides an internal shearing action. Both agitators revolve on their own axes, while at the same time on a common axis. The action of the planetary stirrer also removes material from the tank wall to ensure good heat transfer during the process. Many sizes are available from 1/2 to 400 gal.

* A redesigned, vacuum-operated lab vertical blender has a jacketed vessel wall for heating and cooling. A high-speed chopper in the bottom portion of the side-wall reduces agglomerate and controls the particle size of a granulate. Unit is supplied with controls and a raising and lowering mechanism to enhance the charging and discharging of materials. It is said to be an efficient dry blender and to be gentle, use less power and provide more intimate blends in less time and floor space than horizontal designs. Units are available in sizes from 1 to 500 cu ft.

* Dual-shaft change can-mixers are offered with an anchor and a high-speed disperser. Each agitator is independently driven by an inverter-duty, explosion-proof motor for variable-speed operation. Sizes range from 2 to 1000 gal. Standard models include Type 304 stainless steel wetted parts, jackets for heating or cooling, dual air/oil hydraulic lifts and dished bottoms for complete discharge.

* HV planetary mixer blades are said to enable the mixing of ultra-high-viscosity (up to 10 million cps) formulations. Products having this viscosity usually require a high-horsepower, double-arm mixer. Blades also assist in the rapid incorporation of light and difficult-to-wet solids, such as fumed silica and to clean the walls and bottoms of the vessel during the mix cycle. Circle 362
