Colder Products Co. (CPC; St. Paul, MN), a supplier of quick-disconnect couplings and fittings for plastic tubing used in medical and other applications, has expanded its NS4 series of quick-disconnect couplings to include elbow insert configurations.
Easy-to-use NS4 series couplings include shutoff valves that ensure drip-free disconnects and eliminate costly spills or drips. The nonspill design of the NS4 limits air inclusion, minimizing contaminants and protecting critical system components. Designed with an intuitive and ergonomic thumb latch, the NS4 produces an audible click to ensure users that a reliable connection has been made.
With the introduction of the elbow inserts, users no longer need to coil or bend tubing in tight or constrained control boxes, says CPC. The inserts are offered in panel mount and in-line configurations in 1/4- and 3/8-in. hose barb terminations.
Constructed from glass-filled polypropylene and thermoplastic vulcanizate materials, the NS4 Series couplings combine strength and chemical compatibility. They are designed to accommodate tubing sizes from 1/8 to 3/8 in., and are suited for applications such as analytical instrumentation, medical devices, in vitro diagnostics, cold therapy, wound drainage, patient therapy management, printing and ink management, or any market requiring an easy-to-use connector with drip-free performance, according to CPC.
