Chinaplas debut

Battenfeld Chen Extrusions Systems Ltd. unveiled a new active conical twin-screw extruder at the recent Chinaplas show in Beijing. With the new BCE 2-72 C, the machine manufacturer has extended its product range, offering its customers a complete series of conical extruders in addition to its line of parallel extrusion machines.

The recently developed conical Battenfeld extruder BCE 2-54 C has enjoyed extraordinary market success, and prompted the machinery manufacturer to develop a complete series of active conical twin-screw extruder models. Active conical extruders feature a reduced screw flight in the feed zone and an increased screw flight in the discharge zone of the screw. This concept promotes high output along with optimized homogenization and melt properties.

One reported benefit of the new BCE 2-72 C extrusion system is its good flexibility and considerable output capabilities of up to 250 kg/hr. Battenfeld Chen reports that it is best suited for manufacturing applications such as PVC window frame profiles at an average line speed of about 3 m/min.
