Cooling Fluids Help ReduceScale And Corrosion

PT Fluid Solutions has two new cooling fluid products designed to reduce recurring scale and corrosion build-up in extruder barrel cooling water systems.

CF-825 and CF-830 are said to provide corrosion protection and inhibit deposits without any mixing or diluting of other chemicals. Additional solution can be added to replace evaporative or other coolant losses.

Common symptoms of cooling system problems include dirty water or sludge in the reservoir, tank, flow indicators and site glasses; temperature control problems; visible corrosion of the reservoir tank; impeded operation of solenoids and valves; corroded or failed water pumps and impellers; heat exchanger leaks and premature zone heater failures.

According to the manufacturer, these types of extrusion cooling systems go untreated and undergo destructive corrosion that is accelerated by high temperature operations. Both products are reportedly non-hazardous and eco-friendly.
