DynaChem CEO Shot, Wounded by 20-Year Employee

Keith Rife, CEO of DynaChem Inc. (Westville, IL), a maker of chemicals and resins including aromatic sulfonic acids, epoxy resins, furan resins, and phenolic resins, was shot by a 20-year employee of the company, identified by the Vermillion County sheriff's office as Wayne Woodson. Woodson then shot and killed himself. Rife was taken to the Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL, with non-life-threatening injuries according to an account of the incident in the News-Gazette, an East-Central Illinois newspaper.

Woodson is listed on DynaChem's contact listing as the company's director of new technology.

The incident happened on December 26 at about 2:30 pm during a performance review in Rife's office. The sheriff's office said that no motive for the shooting had been determined.
