PVC conduit and electrical products maker Cantex Inc. (HQ in Fort Worth, TX), owned by Sumitomo Corp. of America, recently announced plans to build a manufacturing and distribution facility on 30 acres in Kingman, AZ. The company's extrusion, injection molding, and fabrication facilities create products that serve the power, utility, building construction, and communication markets. This facility will be in addition to eight manufacturing plants and two distribution centers.

A goal of the new plant is increased productivity and cost-competitiveness, according to Cantex, and the company plans to incorporate “technologically advanced manufacturing equipment and state-of-the-art operating systems.” Cantex sources expect the plant to start operations in August 2007.
