0801pn-35.jpgCenterLine has introduced the Double-Wrist Flip (DWF) line of EOAT (end-of-arm tooling) systems. The DWF is a bolt-on unit that can be added to almost any size robot from any manufacturer. The DWF can be used in static-charge in-mold labeling, insert loading and for over-molding applications where operations are performed on both mold faces.

This EOAT unit allows for insert tooling to mount to one side and the parts removal tooling to mount to the opposite side. Each side can rotate from vertical to horizontal positions, independent of each other. The inserted material can be picked from a feeder bowl, stacks or an operator-loaded station, and then loaded at the same time as the previously molded parts are removed. The part removal side also rotates to a horizontal position for controlled drop-off or to be received at a degating station.

When inserts are loaded and the parts are removed from the same side of the mold, the DWF with EOAT on the same side can be used. This option requires motions provided by the robot to shift the insert tooling into alignment with the mold cavity after it removes the parts, to load the material for the next cycle. The DWF system uses the existing vacuum and pressure lines to supply the added motions.

The DWF comes with the company's Quick-Change System, which uses a dovetail locking system to clamp the EOAT in place. This makes it easy to remove it during tooling changes.
