The Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE; Newton, CT) is seeking papers for its inaugural EUROTEC conference—a technical conference it’s billing as the European counterpart to North America’s ANTEC. SPE EUROTEC, which will take place Oct. 3-7, 2011 in Barcelona, is soliciting original papers in the following areas: Automotive & Transportation; Engineering Properties and Structure; Extrusion for Flexible & Rigid Packaging; Failure Analysis; Medical Plastics; Mold Design & Rapid Tooling; and Plastics & the Environment.
The original EUROTEC was to be held Sept. 29-Oct. 3, 2010 in Barcelona, Spain. Financial constraints imposed by contractors at the original venue led SPE to move the event outside Paris at the Hotel New York Convention Center in Marne-la-Vallée, France. Ultimately however, SPE decided against launching EUROTEC this year, and given the K Show in Germany next fall, it decided the inaugural event would take place in 2011.
Prospective presenters should provide a 100-word abstract by June 1, 2010, and can do so online at www.4spe.org/spe-eurotec-conference. The deadline for submitting a five- to six-page technical paper is Jan. 2, 2011, and final presentations should be 30 minutes long. In addition to being published in the conference proceedings, the papers will also be posted to SPE’s online technical library. The conference will be conducted in English with simultaneous translation available.
More information on SPE EUROTEC is available from the Technical Program Co-Chairs: Bernhard Peters, [email protected], and Dominique Duriez, [email protected], or from SPE’s Sr. Event Manager, Lesley Kyle, [email protected].
In 2010 in Europe, SPE has two events planned: the 7th European Thermoforming Conference & Parts Competition (April 22-24, 2010; Hilton Antwerp Hotel; Antwerp, Belgium) and SPE European Conference on Medical Polymers (Sept. 7-9, 2010; Queen’s University; Belfast, Ireland). —[email protected]
