Canterbury screws are manufactured from AISI 4140 standard base material that is heat-treated and stress relieved to 28-32 Rockwell C. The outside diameter of flights are either flame hardened or hard faced with Stellite #12, Colmonoy #56, Tungsten Carbide, Stellite #6, Colmonoy #83, Coltung, or Colmonoy #88. Additional hard-facing options can be provided as needed. Other common base materials are Hastelloy, stainless steel, and AISI D2, Inconel, CPM10V, 17-4 PH, CPM9V, and Haynes-242. Screws can be manufactured or rebuilt from .750 inch in diameter up to 24 inches in diameter by 30-ft long, and barrels up to 12 inches inside diameter.
