Henkel introduces new water-based heatseal for RPET
Henkel Corp. (Bridgewater, NJ) recently introduced Latiseal B7707AR, a unique, water-based heatseal that reportedly provides perfectly bonded recycled PET blister packages that do not crystallize over time. The Latiseal B7707AR for RPET was developed and thoroughly tested by Henkel on multiple RPET stocks under strict testing conditions and has proven to outperform alternatives in the marketplace, Henkel says.

The Latiseal B7707AR is said to provide excellent adhesion to recycled polyester blisters, and is 100 VOC-free. It offers options for offset, flexographic, and roll-coat application, and enables application off-line, if desired. It is also approved for indirect food contact under FDA regulation 175.105. Latiseal B7707AR also has low seal temperature, resulting in reduced energy consumption, and lower coating weights that result in reduced transportation costs and landfill waste. With its high degree of clarity with no milking of dark inks and high-gloss, it’s an ideal solution for many blister-packaging applications, says the company.
Another addition to the Latiseal water-based line is B7780AR for regular PET. This product is specially formulated for in-line applications over wet inks. It is suitable for all blister-packaging coating equipment, Henkel claims, and eliminates two-step processes, improves production up-time, and reduces operational costs. —[email protected]
