Borealis has shuffled leadership in its molding and film & fiber businesses, promoting Wim Roels to senior VP for film & fiber and back filling his role with a newcomer from BASF. Roels former position as VP of molding will be filled by new hire, Thierry Chevrier, who is coming over from BASF effective Sept. 1.

Roels joined Borealis as a technical service & development engineer for molding applications in 1989. Since that time he has filled several positions across the company including work as plant manager in Norway, research center manager in Finland, general manager Borealis Belgium, VP polyolefin research & development, and VP innovation & technology. Since May 1, 2008, he has been leading Borealis' activities in molding.

Thierry Chevrier brings more than 15 years of international experience in a variety of senior roles in the plastics and pigments industries. Most recently, he was VP global asset management & global restructuring management pigments at BASF, focusing on the integration of Ciba Pigments into BASF.

Dow divested business, Styron (Midland, MI) has named three new members to its executive leadership. The polystyrene and latex business named Richard J. Diemer Jr. as executive VP and CFO; John Sereda as VP and treasurer; and George Osborne as VP and controller.

Diemer was previously senior VP and CFO of Albemarle. Current Styron CFO, Celso Goncalves, will remain with the company through year-end to ensure a smooth transition. Sereda most recently served as VP finance and treasurer for NOVA Chemicals Corp. Osborne comes over to Styron from Dow where he most recently served as the company's corporate controller's director of M&A and significant transactions.
