Aerosol packaging technology giant Lindal Group (Hamburg, Germany) has announced that its Carla actuator has been selected for a major relaunch of the Soft & Gentle line of women's antiperspirants in the United Kingdom.

The popular off-the-shelf Carla actuator is designed for ease of customization to ensure brand differentiation, says Lindal. It is used in a range of personal care and cosmetic products, as well as household and pharmaceutical applications.

lindal-300.jpg"The Lindal Group's Carla actuator is modern, stylish, and expresses the brand's new positioning," said Alicia Mendez, New Product Development Manager, Godrej UK, the subsidiary of Indian-owned Godrej Consumer Products Ltd (GCPL), which acquired the brand from Colgate-Palmolive in 2012. "We are very pleased with the quality, look, and feel of this actuator," added Mendez.

The Carla actuator also is suitable for concentrated solutions, offering brand owners a smooth transition from standard products to the small can sizes that have become popular with consumers and retailers. It enables companies to maintain their brand's style across platforms, says Lindal in a press release. Aerosol technology that is compatible with concentrated formulas, such as those used in compressed deodorants, can reduce propellant and solvent use by as much as 50%.

Because the technology permits more viscous products to be offered in a compact aerosol form, it opens up development opportunities in cosmetic, body care, sun protection, hair care, and other products, says Lindal.
