AccuRate has added the small LS Mechatron and the larger HC Mechatron to its line of feeders. Profibus, DeviceNet, Modbus and Ethernet communications interfaces are optional on all units.

Low-rate feeder, the LS Mechatron, has output rates up to 23 cu ft/hr and is said to be especially suited to feeding cohesive materials such as Kevlar, wood flour and color pigments. Unit has a conical, stainless steel hopper, two-stage material agitator and a dual load cell weigh section.

Integrated, pre-wired volumetric or gravimetric control packages are available. The unit can be disassembled, cleaned, reconfigured and serviced from the non-process side. Three sizes of extension hoppers are also available: 1, 2.25 and 3 cu ft. 360-deg connection clamps are said to eliminate material leakage. Circle 104

Feed rates in excess of 1100 cu ft/hr are claimed possible for the HC Mechatron feeder. Both volumetric and gravimetric configurations are available and both feature a cast aluminum and stainless steel frame, conical flexible hopper with external paddle agitation, 2 or 3 hp ac drive packages and integrated and pre-wired controls.

Like the LS above, this unit can be disassembled, cleaned, reconfigured andserviced from the non-process side and features 360-deg connection clamps to eliminate leakage.

Extension hoppers are available in 10-, 20- and 50- and 100-cu ft sizes.
