MedPlast Inc., a precision custom molder with production capabilities in five locations across the United States, announced the completion of a new class 100,000 cleanroom at its West Berlin, NJ manufacturing plant. This cleanroom was added to meet the needs of existing customers and accommodate new ones who require a high level of compliance and cleanliness in the development, manufacture, and assembly of medical products.

MedPlast has also added new molding machines to increase capacity at the West Berlin facility, bringing to 42 the number of conventional and two-shot presses at that location, ranging from 200-400 tons clamping force. Last year, a new tool room was added at West Berlin with new CNC and robotic EDM equipment to increase its mold manufacturing capacity for its medical customers.

“The expansion of our New Jersey facility will provide better service in a controlled environment for our customers that demand highly specialized products manufactured to exacting standards,” said Robert Piccoli, vice president and general manager of MedPlast West Berlin.

The 60,000-ft2 facility serves the medical, healthcare, and diagnostics industries and offers assembly, ultrasonic welding, pad printing, heat staking and electronic sub-assemblies. The West Berlin plant also provides expertise in multi-cavity, 2-shot, and co-injection capabilities. —[email protected]
