Metalizing system provides high covering reliability

A roll-to-roll sputter-coating system for PET or nylon can provide multilayer stacks in a single pass. This manufacturer developed the Smartweb system for a customer which provides high-value biotechnology products that require high process reliability.

The system provides the right peel strength (adhesion) of the deposited metal layers as well as pinhole-free coating. It features a small footprint with a height of less than 2.5m. It is cleanroom compatible and is equipped with two process modules that contain a total of six sputter compartments. Sputtered layers can be deposited onto the film from 100 to 250 µm.
