Mir today--and tomorrow too, apparently

Rumors about the future, or lack thereof, of Italian injection molding machine manufacturer Mir (Brescia) were not exactly cleared up by Mir officials at Plast, but from the sound of things the firm has a future for now. Last year the firm changed hands, and it is now being "rented" from Mir SpA by the Ipsa group, an Italian holding company, according to Leonella Carcano, sales manager. "We rent Mir for three years, then if we want, we can purchase it, including all of its assets," he said.

At Plast the firm didn''t abandon its long-established credo of offering just about any molding option known; at one time it had three all-electric presses running with one processing rubber, one a thermoplastic, and the third a thermoset plastic.
