Al Hodge has been promoted from VP sales for R&B Plastics Machinery LLC (Saline, MI) to president of R&B Holdings LLC, making him responsible for R&B Plastics Machinery, Monroe Mold, and R&B Real Estate companies. Promoted on Feb. 17, 2010, Hodge joined the company more than a year ago, bringing more than 30-years of sales and marketing as well as general management experience. Hodge will work to expand R&B Plastics’ customer base in the extrusion and blowmolding markets. First established in 1942 as R&B Machine Tool Co., R&B Plastics Machinery was created as a separate operating subsidiary in 1980. In 2001 the machine tool division was sold and later closed. Today the company is part of the Talon Group based in Detroit, MI.

Mary Slaga, a packaging consultant in TricorBraun’s Chicago office, has been elected to a two-year term as vice president-chapters by the Institute of Packaging Professionals (IoPP). She will be responsible for maintaining ongoing communications between the IoPP board and the group’s individual chapters. The IoPP stresses continuing education as it advocates for packaging as a positive, environmentally responsible, and economically effective means of improving society.

Tim Markham has joined PCS Company (Fraser, MI) as a technical sales specialist for hot runner systems. Markham will be responsible for expanding sales of the PCS hot runner product line throughout North America. Before joining PCS, he spent more than 10 years with OSCO Inc. as its Sr. technical hot runner advisor. —[email protected]
