"Omega Plastics has invested heavily in capital equipment to increase capacity at its Clinton, TN, manufacturing facility and we feel fortunate to be growing in today's economy," said Herb Hutchison, Omega's vice president of sales and business development.

Hutchinson told PlasticsToday that Omega added six extrusion lines in 2013 to the original 12 lines in place when the company was acquired Dec. 31, 2012 by Santiago, Chile-based DVP Corp. Omega is also looking to expand the physical facility as well.

"After doing our capacity planning shortly after the DVP acquisition, the growth plan was to add capacity, then bring in new business, rather than go after new business then add lines," Hutchison explained. Capabilities at Omega Plastics include single, dual and triple durometer custom profile extrusion in a variety of thermoplastic materials. Additional capabilities include both Celuka and free foam extrusion, and complete tooling construction development.

Omega also announced the addition of David Adams to the sales team at the company, with responsibility in the southeast. Adams will be responsible for Florida, Georgia, North and South Carolina, Alabama, Tennessee and Mississippi. He has held sales leadership positions with industry leaders in the industrial packaging market, including Plastican Inc. and Letica Corp. Adams is a graduate of Georgia Southern University and resides in Atlanta with his family.

"David is proven performer in the Southeast and we are very happy to have him as part of our organization. He brings in very strong industry and territorial depth to the company, and furthers Omega's commitment to our customers in customer service leadership," Hutchison stated.

"Omega Plastics has unique technology and capabilities, especially in the field of cellular extrusion, mono/dual/tri extrusion and post forming of extruded products," Adams said of the company. "With the increased capacity, Omega Plastics in uniquely positioned to provide custom and private label products to the market. I am very happy to join the organization and bring out unique services to current and future customers."
